Overlooking the beautiful Harapan Lake (and some friendly monitor lizards!), Desasiswa Harapan is one of the most sought-after hostels in USM. It is located very strategically in the heart of USM, where anything you need is a stone’s throw away. The best part? The bus stop is right in front of the hostel! Desasiswa Harapan has 2 blocks (F25 and F26), with each having 5 floors to accommodate a maximum of 292 students.

In Harapan, you can choose. The first-ever premium hostel block, Harapan F26 offers wellfurnished rooms. The added advantages are the lounge room, study rooms, praying room, free high-speed Wi-Fi, pantry and laundry services for better learning and living experience. For students who prefer the OG hostel rooms, fret not, we have the answer in Harapan F25 which offers similar facilities as F26.

The all-girls hostels, comprising 2 blocks with 10 levels in each block, can accommodate as many as 1,764 students at one go. Complimentary free Wi-fi, vending machine and lots of other amenities await students upon check-in.

Be sure to wake up early enough to witness the spectacular view of the sunrise from the Open Gym located at M04. The strategic location on the top of the RST Complex allows less than a 10-minute walk to the main campus gate. Desasiswa Saujana is suitable for those that crave peace from the greens, far from the traffic jam and have the spectacular view of Penang, especially the night spectacle. Surely a great place to relax and socialize after a long day at school.
